Justin Magnuson is the President and Treasurer of the Justice Reform Foundation (JRF). Within seven years of graduating college, Justin grew his neurodiagnostic testing company to approximately $100 million dollars in annual sales and earned the prestigious recognition of making Inc. 5000’s list for five years in a row. Justin then started a second successful business in the medical field which continues to flourish today.
Justin founded the JRF after he was wrongly accused of a crime he didn’t commit. Justin knows he has been fortunate compared to countless people who don’t have his privileges and resources. This is why since his release, in addition to focusing on putting his life back together, Justin is determined to dedicate his time and resources to helping others. Justin wants to help others that are wrongfully convicted to avoid the nightmare scenario he endured and assist people who have suffered injustice at the hands of our criminal justice system.
Justin is building a reintegration program to support recently released individuals as they transition back into society. He has worked with similar programs supporting veterans in the past and believes this program could be a great way for participants to learn essential business skills. Justin believes the greatest obstacle to criminal justice reform is the public’s lack of knowledge on the subject. With the JRF, Justin is educating the public on topics like the need for bail reform, marijuana legalization, unlawful detainment, prosecutorial misconduct, abuse in the utilization of confidential informants, and disparate treatment among classes of citizens.
